“At Wexler Boley & Elgersma, our success comes from a special dedication to exposing the truth, even in the face of increasingly sophisticated frauds. There is nothing more rewarding.”
Bethany joined Wexler Boley & Elgersma in 2012 and focuses her practice on cases involving healthcare, consumer protection and whistleblower-false claims. Her caseload is diverse, spanning the firm’s pharmaceutical antitrust cases to false claims cases and investor litigation.
Early in her career, Bethany and her team obtained asylum for a pro bono client who had previously been persecuted in her home country. Playing a formative role in her experiences as an attorney, this case gave Bethany a taste of satisfaction and the gratification of correcting policy injustices.
In 2016 Bethany and her team took on socially important litigation, representing the City of Chicago (along with co-counsel) against multiple defendant pharmaceutical companies for their unlawful and deceptive marketing of opioids for the treatment of chronic non-cancer pain. Despite knowing the opioids pose a risk of addiction, the pharmaceutical companies executed aggressive marketing campaigns that overstated the benefits of long-term opioid use and misrepresented the risks of these dangerous drugs. Bethany continues to take on a variety of cases in order to seek relief for clients.
