“He who sues for the king as well as for himself.”
Exposing Fraud Against the Government
Under The Federal False Claims Act and state law counterparts, private citizens or “whistleblowers” with knowledge of fraudulent conduct being perpetrated on the government may sue on behalf of the government to recover the payments made based upon the false claims of the wrongdoers. When the suit is filed, the government may decide to intervene and prosecute the case itself.
Regardless, if a case is successful, the private citizen or “relator” may be awarded a portion of the funds recovered by the government, as well as his or her attorneys’ fees.
Wexler Boley & Elgersma LLP is committed to seeing companies and individuals held responsible for their actions that involve fraud against the government and its taxpayers, as well as representing those private citizens who expose the fraud.
