Supreme Court Won’t Review Properly-Certified Front-Loading Washing Machine Cases
Yesterday, the Supreme Court denied certiorari to three cases involving front-loading washing machines that were certified to proceed as class actions against major laundry appliance manufacturers. Consumers claimed that the washing machines have major design defects that led to the development of mold, mildew, and “biofilm”—all of which stain clothes and cause noxious odors. Because the Supreme Court denied review, lawsuits against Sears, Whirlpool, and BSH will proceed in federal court.
